Color My World Orange

I am so late with this one!
I have been working part-time for the last 2 weeks and with our little getaway to Tremblant last weekend, not much sewing got done.

I did manage to finish my orange star for September earlier this week.  I had a bit of a rough time with this one.  I decided to use the braced star pattern by Vicki Welsh that was featured on The Quilting Gallery's Autumn Block Party and it didn't go together as smoothly as my other blocks have.  I am chalking it down to a very tired quilter!

I am happy with the outcome even though this isn't the best photo of my block.  Orange is my favorite color and I think this star really pops!

This month's color is grey.  This will be a big challenge for me as I never sew with grey.  I think I may have to go borrow some from my mom or my other quilting friends!

It is Thanksgiving Weekend here in Canada.  I hope all of my Canadian friends have a great Holiday weekend.  I am looking forward to more family time and a great turkey dinner followed by pumpkin pie!  I leave you with a photo from our trip to Mont Tremblant last weekend.  I hope the colors inspire you as much as they do me!

  2. I don't usually use orange fabric, but I love your block. It reminds me of Fall, which is my favorite season of the year.
